math 2020

Hi for this week for math we did place value on x tables

This week we have been learning place value on times-tables!

Say there's a teacher and the teacher asks you a question

"9 x 73"

You say, "I don’t no"

Well I will tell you how to work this out fast. The first thing you do is 9 x 70 = 630. I knew that straight away because I did 9 x 7 which = 63 and then I added a 0 at the end that = 630. Then I did 9 x 3 which = 27. After that all you just do is 630 + 27 = 657, so the answer is 657. This technique is called place value.
thank you for reading my blog bye :)

what grade are you?

  1. Hi Julian
I like the way that you have explained your learning goal very clearly. I will try and remember it when I do maths. Next time, you might want to make your post more colourful.
    I am in Year 5.
    Thanks,
    Mason

  2. Hi Julian,
There were some good math there. I thought 9x73 was hard but when you showed me how to get the answer it wasent that hard. Thank you for teaching me how to get the answer.
